HALDA, the Swedish contribution to the high grade watch industry.

Breif history: In 1887 Henning Hammarlund started a factory for manufacturing high quality pocket watches. The first watches, no: 91, 92 and 93 was finished in 1889. Halda watches was entierly constructed and manufactured in Sweden, even the jewels! However, the Halda watches was too expensive to compete with the high quality Swiss brands as Omega, IWC etc. The production ended in 1917 and was reconstructed to produce typing machines, taxameters etc. Later also the world famous fishing reel ABU Ambasadeur. Branches of Halda still produce things as Haldex transmissions for cars.
