OMEGA CK 2242, KEW Teddington
A very rare -40's Omega center-seconds wristwatch for sale. In barn find condition, with new crystal and a NOS Omega original 30 mm's blued second hand. The watch is in a overall very beautiful aged vintage condition with one of the finest case/dial designs from Omega.
The Red star Omega's was according to some scources only sold to Brazil and shall have the cal: 30T2 or 30T2SC which was the movement who passed the Teddington observatory test. The 30T2 and 30T2SC is technically identical to the later 30T2RG chronometers.
The reference CK 2242 was one of the first references which used the new caliber 30, the precursor of the famous 30T1, 30T2, 30T2PC, 30T2RG, 265, 266...

Case size: 33 mm.
Case condition: Stainless steel in original unpolished condition, heavy wear on the hole for the springbar at the case horn at "4" Engraving on the case back.
Movement caliber/number: 30T2SC / 9 702 721
Movement condition: Heavy oxidated bridges and plate (see pictures), mechanically in very good undamaged condition with no signs of rust. The bimetallic balance is perfectly running in its plane with good amplitude, the hairspring is centered and without any damages. Winding and setting is smooth.
Crystal: New low dome plexi.
Crown: OMEGA original to the watch.
Dial: OMEGA original Lemrich dial in aged condition.
Hands: OMEGA original hands hour and minute hand. NOS OMEGA 30mm blued sec. hand.
